Star Chart PPP

This is a campus summary and review of the Texas Star Chart and Texas Long Range plan for Technology

Opinion: Texas Long Range Plan for Technology

To me the most important area of the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology lies in Educator Preparation and Development.  This is often times a struggle to get old school, lecture type, stand up in front of the class and dictate to the students, to want to change their classroom environments.  Change is difficult, and when technology is constantly changing it is hard to get these types of teachers on board.  The problem more often than not, is a lack of knowledge on the teacher’s part on how a certain technology can help motivate and make their classroom lessons so much more interesting for their students.  This is where educator preparation and professional development must be our number one priority on this long range plan.  Educators must take the initiative to increase their own personal learning before they can make an increase in their students learning.  Teachers and administrators will have to develop their knowledge of technology first and then learn how to incorporate this knowledge into the curriculum and classroom instruction.  Classrooms of the future all point to an environment in which individualization, differentiation, and diversity will make it a necessity to implement technology and software programs that will benefit each and every student.  No child left behind mandates this and our diversified populations where students come to the classrooms with different strengths and weaknesses demands it.  Technology and its implementation and integration into our curriculums and classrooms will be constantly changing and improving.  The state of Texas and the prosperity of our future generations will need educators willing to continually learn and develop professionally in order to meet the demands of our future students and classroom environments.
